Concepts in Creating Culturally Responsive Services for Supervised Visitation Centers
This DVD is a companion
to the report, “Concepts in Creating
Culturally Responsive Services for
Supervised Visitation Centers.”Both explore the issues associated
with Cultural Responsiveness in the context
of Supervised Visitation, Safe Exchange and
Domestic Violence. The report is an in-depth analysis. The DVD highlights some of the
report’s key issues and will hopefully
inspire practitioners to begin to understand
and implement culturally responsive
services.
The Institute on
Domestic Violence in the African American
Community produced this DVD in collaboration
with the United States Department of
Justice, Office on Violence Against Women,
(OVW).
OVW created the “Safe
Havens: Supervised Visitation and Safe
Exchange Grant Program” that requires
governmental entities, domestic violence
agencies, courts, and supervised visitation
and exchange service providers to come
together to examine and implement policies
and procedures for the purpose of creating
services that account for the complex safety
needs of families experiencing intimate
partner violence.
