Dr. Esther J. Jenkins is a Professor of Psychology at Chicago State
University and a Senior Research Associate at the community Mental
Health Council in Chicago. Her current research interests are
trauma and grief among African American children and youth and HIV
risk behaviors among African American women. She received her B.A.
degree from Northwestern University and her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees
in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan.
