as well as nonprofit organizations that advance its mission of reducing
violence against women and strengthening services to victims of
domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other forms of
violence.
A Call to Men
A Call to Men: The National Association of Men and Women Committed to
Ending Violence Against Women, seeks to mobilize men across the
nationwide who are committed to working toward ending all forms of
violence against women. The organization's aims to spur a paradigm
shift in how manhood is defined in our culture, while influencing men's
behavior through various educational and training vehicles
American Bar Association Commission on Domestic Violence
The Commission's goal is to mobilize the legal profession to provide
access to justice and safety for victims of domestic violence. With
this mission in mind, the Commission continues to ambitiously and
effectively address domestic violence issues in a range of contexts
from educating judges, lawyers, or advocates on complex points of
emerging law, to healing victims and their children learn ways to
enhance their safety.
Battered Women's Justice Project
The Battered Women's Justice Project (BWJP) advocates for systemic
change within community organizations and governmental agencies engaged
in the civil and criminal justice response to domestic violence in
order to hold these institutions accountable for the goals of safety
and security for battered women and their children. BWJP carries out
its mission through its various initiatives, partnerships, and
technical assistance
End Violence Against Women: Information and Resources
This site was developed by the staff of the Center for Communication
Programs (CCP) at John Hopkins University as part of its ongoing effort
to collect and share documentation and communication materials produced
in the worldwide struggle to end violence against women.
Family Violence and Sexual Assault Institute
The Family Violence and Sexual Assault Institute is an international
organization that works on the areas of research, program consultation
and evaluation, training and technical assistance, and community
education and development.
Family Violence Prevention Fund
This organization works toward ending violence against women and
children, both in the at home and in the community. FVPF works with
lawmakers, educates judges, and collaborates with health care providers
and employers.
Faithtrust Institute
The Faith trust Institute provides training and educational resources
for clergy, lay leaders, seminary faculty, chaplains, policy makers of
religious institutions, and community advocates on the faith aspects of
sexual and domestic violence.
Men Stopping Violence
Men Stopping Violence is a social change organization dedicated to
ending men's violence against women. Men Stopping Violence works
locally, nationally, and internationally to dismantle the belief
systems, social structures, and institutional practices that oppress
women and children and dehumanize men. Believing that all forms of
oppression are interconnected, the organization works toward promoting
social justice work in the areas of race, class, gender, age, and
sexual orientation are all critical to ending violence against women.
Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse (MINCAVA)
MINCAVA contains an electronic clearinghouse of research and general
information related to domestic violence.
National Coalition Against Domestic Violence
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence serves as a national
information and referral center for the general public, media, battered
women and their children, as well as allied and member agencies and
organizations.
National Domestic Violence Hotline
The National Domestic Violence Hotline provides callers with
information toll-free, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, with a database
of more than 4,000 shelters and service providers across the United
States, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV)
NNEDV is a membership and advocacy organization with an extensive state
and grassroots constituency. The organization serves to effect positive
change in public toward ending domestic violence and providing
effective services to the battered women and their families
Women's Law Initiative
This site provides easy-to-understand legal information and resources
to women living with or escaping domestic violence. By reaching out
through the internet, the Women's Law Initiative empowers women and
girls to lead independent and productive lives free from abuse.
